For students serious about improving their skills, atleast 6 months to being in voice lessons are required.
The Best of Both Worlds Vocal Productions (a.k.a BOBW) is an innovative way to receive training in both the technical aspects and performance elements of singing. In our studio, student's learn diaphragmatic breathing, vocal anatomy and performance training in all genre's of music. Each student's study is tailored to their specific goals. Our experience is that students who train vocally in both technical, as well performance styling, are better rounded performers and competitors.
Therefore, students in our studio do not train with just one teacher. This way of teaching has gotten our studio national attention. In 2009 we were published in the HSN Gifty Box as the studio to try from San Antonio through Austin. We were the only studio selected. We have many students who are in the entertainment business who have learned how to be smart singer's. They have learned the pitfalls of bad vocal singing & are made aware of current singer's in the business who are battling vocal problems. They understand the importance of proper technique combined with great performance skills. We actively have students auditioning for American Idol and the local "Our Part of Town" competitions.

Josh Milan was the 2nd place winner in "Our part of town" competition. He has now gone on and been signed with an Management team in LA and is working on his first demo cd. He will soon be shopped to the Major Record Labels,

student's who have won competitions in Los Angeles, signed with Interscope Records, interviewed with
Columbia Records, signed with a major country,gospel & r &b record labels and been selected
as the guest singer in David Fosters latest show in Las Vegas..."David and Friends". Sarah Centeno was selected out of thousands and videos.

She was discovered and signed with
Interscope Records/Universal.
Our studio was selected to be her vocal coaches.
Her album "Love Hangover" was released on November 15, 2011.

Sonya Yamin
Sonya Yamin is the vocal technique teacher. She is part owner of
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
VOCAL PRODUCTIONS. She received her training inVocal Performance under the direction of Linda Poetschke at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Sonya is the first soprano for the internationally known classical historical musical ensemble SAVAE.
They have been blessed to appear numerous times on NPR, have topped Amazon.com's best seller lists, #2 Best Album for New York's New Sounds Albums of the Year and the "Rannanu" track from TheAncient Echoes cd appeared in the Ridley Scott film "Kingdom of Heaven". Their music has appeared in several
documentaries for PBS (Discovering Dominga) and recently were the featured performers for Early Music Now's 20th Anniversary concert series. All of the music is available on i-tunes. Sonya has won many competitions and has appeared in numerous roles in opera and musical theater projects including Maria in West Side Story and Rizzo in Grease.
She is currently part of the fabulous
"The Powerhouse Divas" .
She was selected and published in the
Marquis Who's Who in America as Voice Teacher and Educator.
As part of continuing education studies, Sonya Yamin has
attended The Fifth Interdisciplinary Voice Intervention
Studies @ The Voice Institute.
Voice Institute of West Texas at ACU
The Voice Institute of West Texas laboratory is located in the
facilities of the Center for Speech and Language Disorders
on the campus of Abilene Christian University. It serves the
fine arts community by cultivating singing and vocal pedagogy.
The health professions are assisted by the providing of diagnostic
and clinical research studies in patients with a wide variety of
medical conditions, from cancer to vocal paralysis. Higher
education is served by providing observation,clinical practice,
diagnostic experience, and research opportunities forstudents
of voice and speech-language pathology.
The highest standards of the vocal art and of
ethical principles in the teaching of singing; and
to promote vocal education and research at all
levels.
Alisa Claridy (Vocal coach)
Alisa Claridy has been
singing since she was 5 years
old. Professionally, she started singing at the age of 14 years old in various venues. She graduated from William Howard Taft, San
Antonio, Tx in 1988 where some of her formal training began in choir & drama. A year after graduation, she was blessed to later compete
on the tv show
"Showtime At The Apollo."
This was the greatest moment in her life. Where artists such as Prince and Luther Vandross had been booed off of the stage, she prospered and made it through
with applause. She is currently a two time Sammy Davis Jr. Awardwinner,2004 San Antonio's Gimme The Mike winner ,and The San Antonio Idolwinner.
She has played the challengingrole of "Effie White" in
DREAMGIRLS at the San Pedro Playhouseand the voice of "the plant" in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS".
She is also part of the fabulous"The Powerhouse Divas".
Before forming a co-ownership of
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS VOCAL PRODUCTIONS,
Alisa Claridy recently released her first Contemporary R&B Album called " A little bit of Claridy" which is available on i-tunes.
